Rodents can cause serious problems in homes and businesses, spreading disease, damaging property and risking closures or lost revenue. Traditional detection often relies on signs that only appear late in an infestation, by which point the problem may already be extensive.
JG Pest Control's canine detection service provides a rapid, non-invasive and highly accurate way to identify live rodent activity. Our professionally trained detection dogs locate infestations faster than conventional methods, helping you act early, minimise disruption and protect your premises in South Yorkshire.
Our trained detection dogs pinpoint live rodent activity by scent, far faster than visual inspection alone.

Canine Rat Dispatch Service
Our canine rat dispatch service uses specially trained dogs to quickly and efficiently locate and dispatch rats. This is especially useful where poisons or traps are undesirable, such as food production sites, farms, or residential areas with children and pets.
It is important to note that, while using dogs for rat control is legal, using dogs to hunt mice is not permitted under current UK legislation. Our canine dispatch service is therefore strictly limited to rat infestations, and all work is carried out in accordance with the highest standards of animal welfare and legal compliance.
When to Use Canine Detection
Rodent infestations can escalate rapidly, often without obvious signs until significant damage has occurred. Canine detection is ideal before and after a treatment programme: to confirm whether activity is present, to pinpoint exactly where rodents are harbouring, and to verify that an area is clear once works are complete. Whether you are worried about early warning signs or dealing with an active problem, our detection and dispatch teams offer a fast, effective and discreet solution across South Yorkshire.
